The I Ching Binary System And Natural Phenomena by Stanley Tomshinsky |
| The following projects were realized between 1974 and 1978. This is an internet-rendition of these projects. The scope of this presentation is to show the analogies between the I Ching binary system and various natural phenomena. These pages can be downloaded from the Index in a file called analogies.zip. |
| DNA and RNA Analogies |
|
The "I Ching" stresses the importance of relationships
created by corresponding lines: 1-4, 2-5, and 3-6; the first line
of the lower trigram corresponds with the first line of the upper
trigram and so on.
|
|
|
The corresponding line-relationships are the key
to this analogy. Two trigrams unite to form a
hexagram. The three sets
of corresponding lines interact to bind the hexagram
together. The four corresponding two-line units
are attributed to the amino acids. On the following
pages you will see the method I devised to arrive at these
conclusions. The same two-line unit that represents T (thymine) in the DNA sequence represents U (uracil) in the RNA sequence. C, A, and G hold true for both. The page illustrating the DNA sequence is a scan of the original 1978 page and uses the T symbol. |
