"La Papesse" on the left represents the passive principle. The circles placed in a contained fashion denote serenity. The spiral denotes continuity.

"The Flaming Head" represents the active principle. The action is implied by the opening at the top and the spiral placed perpendicular to the opening. This denotes movement in the middle of duality.



Man With An Idea,1968,cm 45


In "Man With An Idea", the two semicircles at the top left of the structure symbolize the two forces. In the Chinese "Book of Changes" or "I Ching", the two universal forces are represented as yin and yang.


Le Cabaliste,1968,cm 70


"Le Cabaliste" is an allusion to one who is adept in the mysteries of the Cabal. The spiral eight-form line comprises a head and at the same time a figure in the middle is holding the spiral.
