Going Out,1974,acrylic,200x162cm

The "going out" or future element in this image is the line at the right. The forms in the middle are interacting in the present. The line at the left represents the atavistic past. The image can also be see as a big head. This has been a recurring theme in my paintings over the years. The forms making up the whole represent the many aspects of one mental existence as well as the many existences in an external world.

Going Out,1973,bronze,90cm

The meaning of the title "Going Out" in this structure is the evolution of the human race, nothing less! This evolution can be seen as cultural development and in terms of space travel. In both cases this is implied by the curved line extending upward. The intertwining lines below suggest our present condition.
